Voters like you and me are disgusted with the reckless spending by Congress. We need someone to step forward as an alternative choice, both in political party and candidate. I’m throwing my hat in the ring for you. I feel it is necessary at this time for us the American people to replace our representatives in Congress. It is clear to me and I think to most of you that our Democrat and Republican representatives are not doing their jobs.
It is apparent from polls I have seen in the last few months (some showing congressional approval as low as 9%) that I am not alone in that thinking. Our system of government allows for the people of our nation to undertake peaceful revolution though the election of new representatives. Our problem now is that in each election we are offered two choices. Two choices that represent virtually all of the same interests, though nearly identical policies. Two choices who regardless of leanings be it to the right or left are not representing the best interest of the vast majority of the people of this country. The Democrats and Republicans ignore the roots of our economic problems, spend us into debt at an ever accelerating rate, now exceeding 100% of GDP, and squabble over relatively minor taxes and budget cuts in an attempt to appear that they are working on the problem.
In order to vote out the Democrat and Republican representatives we must have another choice on the ballot. There must be someone for us to vote for. This is why I am running for office. To allow the people of North Dakota another choice, to allow you the opportunity to cast a vote of no confidence in both major parties, and to send them the message that if they do not work to effect real solutions and show an attentiveness to the well being of their constituency that we are willing to vote them out.
I have chosen to seek the Libertarian Party nomination for US Congress because I believe in policies of freewill for people and free markets for business, and because a constitutionally limited federal government would greatly reduce the waste of micromanaging the whole country, through its regulations, and return that power to its rightful place in state and local governments, where those decisions can be made with greater consideration for the people who’s lives they affect. The Libertarian Party is also the largest and most well organized of the third parties, with the best chance of electing representatives who can influence the direction of government and reduce the unfair manipulation of election rules by the two parties thus preventing the will of the people of this nation from having the power it should.
I am asking for your help to collect the signatures necessary to form a Libertarian Party in North Dakota, and to help spread the word of my campaign.
I will make for you the following campaign promises. If elected I will introduce legislation to ban contributions from corporations and organizations, forcing candidates to appeal to the people they will represent for their funding. I will vote against any legislation that oversteps the powers of the federal government as defined in the constitution. I will defend the rights guaranteed to us by the constitution. I will not vote to use public funds to bail out failed private business.
