Our constitution lays out what the powers of our state and federal governments should be. They are separated and their is good reason for them to be. At the national level regulations affect everyone. Our state is small in population, we have less representation than larger states and much less money from our state goes to lobby Washington. Regulations made on the national level will never be built to suit the needs of North Dakota, we end up living with ‘solutions’ for the problems of California, or New York. I propose we restore the rights of the states as defined in the constitution. Let’s move those powers back home where people who live in North Dakota can decide what North Dakota needs to regulate.
